Am stuck on homework project as i cant think of an idea suitable for a small town.
We’ve got clothes shops, shoe shops, sweet shops, garden centers ETC ETC.
I thought about a pet boutique selling posh pet Accessories – which would probably work in Los Angeles but not a small town
Does any one have any small business ideas suitable to be undertaken in a small town?

One apporach is to try and find something new. But the best business for a town is the one that has the most shops already. If there are ten tractor repair shops (or pie shops) they are probably making money so that is a good business to go into. If only one of each, pick the one that is busiest.
Dear Stuck on homework,
One of the small businesses that goes well in small communities is a resale shop. Clothing and small appliances with a gift line.
I have done this in my town of 350 and it not only works but draws from neighboring towns. You can work most merchandise on consingment or just buy outright and mark up your shop
